The authors discuss the assumption that land ownership increases productivity and provide an overview of land reforms and large-scale land acquisitions in developing countries. On behalf of GIZ, Ecologic Institute designed, organised and implemented a study tour for directors and assistant directors of various Chinese environmental agencies and the Chinese Ministry of Environment from 27 March to 9 April 2011.
