Friederike Mechel, LLM
Dr. Friederike Mechel currently works on key questions of climate change law and energy law at the Hamburg Agency for City Development and Environment. From 2002 until 2008, she worked as a scientific consultant at the Research Center on Environmental Law at the University of Hamburg and for the Chairman of the German Advisory Council on the Environment (SRU). In her dissertation she analysed the legal questions surrounding environmentally friendly public procurement.
From 2003 to 2005, Dr. Mechel was an Associate at Ecologic Institute, where she worked on the projects ‘Public Procurement and Forest Certification’ and ‘Analysis of federal level FSC certification and timber procurement for the strengthening of ecological standards’.
