Julia Rüsch was a Fellow at Ecologic Institute and part of Ecologic Legal. She was involved in a project for the Federal Ministry for the Environment concerning the implementation of an emissions trading system in Germany. Julia Rüsch completed part of her legal traineeship at Ecologic Institute, focusing on a study for the Federal Environment Agency concerning Member States' external competences in the area of international marine protection.
She also concentrated on national environmental law during her traineeship at a specialised law firm and at the Regional Council of Freiburg. During her five month internship at IEEP - Ecologic Institute's partner in London - she worked on different projects concerning European environmental law. Furthermore, she concentrated on competition law while working as a trainee for the legal department of the German Association of the Electrical Engineering and Electronic Industries (Zentralverband für Deutsche Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie, ZVEI).
Julia Rüsch studied law at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau. During the course of her studies she completed internships at the legal department of GTZ (with an emphasis on contract law), the economic department of the Permanent Representation of Germany at the EU, Brussels, and at a German-French law firm in Strassburg. Julia Rüsch works in English and French.
