Holger Gödderz's work as an Intern for Ecologic Institute focused on European environmental policy and governance and local sustainable development strategies. Thematically, he is interested in climate policy, renewable energy, energy efficiency and the European Emission Trading System (EU-ETS). A German native speaker, he is also fluent in English and has a good knowlegde of French.
At Ecologic Institute, Holger Gödderz mainly contributed to the projects "City of the Future" Ahrensfelde 2030+ – Living together sustainably and Reducing Nutrient Loadings from Agricultural Soils to the Baltic Sea via Groundwater and Streams (Soils2Sea). Additionally, he supported the project which evaluated the Klima.Diskurs NRW.
Before Holger Gödderz started at Ecologic Institute, he worked as an assistant at the Environmental Law Centre (ELC) of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). He worked together with Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Gieler on various publications and completed an internship at the German current affairs and documentary channel Phoenix.
In 2013, Holger Gödderz started his Master's degree in political science with a focus on European studies at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany). After his internship at Ecologic Institute, he will write his Master's thesis on the EU-ETS. He received his Bachelor's degree in Politics and Society at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (Germany) and spent a semester abroad at the Charles-University in Prague (Czech Republic).
