Researcher (m/f/d) with expertise in resource conservation and circular economy

Part-time 30h/week

The Ecologic Institute's resource team is engaged in several projects dealing with resource policy, decoupling of resource consumption and economic growth, resource use and circular economy and the associated transformation processes. What goals need to be set – and for whom? What role does strategic, long-term planning play in achieving these set goals, and how should effective monitoring be designed? Who should be involved in the processes, in what capacity and for what purposes? And what is the legal framework in which these aspects are organized and coordinated?

Your tasks:

  • Supporting projects with a focus on qualitative analysis and evaluation of international and national policies and strategies on resource conservation and circular economy
  • Conducting scientific analyses and preparing case studies based on literature and data research, interviews with experts and exchange with stakeholders
  • Contributing to the development of environmental policy solutions and recommendations
  • Supporting the analysis and evaluation of regional transformation processes
  • Editing scientific publications and project reports
  • Support third-party funding acquisition at regional, national and international level
  • Assistance in the conception and implementation of project-related events

Your profile:

  • Master's degree in environmental or resource economics, resource management, environmental science, political science or a comparable degree
  • At least two years of professional experience in the field of resource conservation and circular economy are desirable
  • Very good knowledge of relevant national and European policies and strategies in the field of resource conservation and circular economy
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Very good skills in presenting project results in writing
  • Interest and the ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new environmental policy topics
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary manner
  • Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
  • Experience in the acquisition of third-party funding is a plus
  • An environmental understanding of material flows, supply chains and future technologies and their relevance to climate policy as well as background knowledge on decoupling economic growth from resource consumption are considered an asset
