Dr. Nina Kuckländer
Dr Nina Kuckländer had been working in the IT Team at Ecologic Institute since August 2007. She administered servers in the heterogeneous network environment (Linux, Mac, Windows). Furthermore she designed databases for scientific projects at Ecologic Institute. Since March 2012 Dr Nina Kuckländer is working at the Clearingstelle EEG. She works in German, English and has basic knowledge of French.
Dr Nina Kuckländer introduced a virtual private network (VPN) to connect Ecologic Institute's various offices. As a database designer, she also created databases for the projects Economic assessment of genetically modified crops and Catalogue of measures to address diffuse pollution from agriculture. Furthermore, Dr Nina Kuckländer supports the Clearingstelle EEG in IT systems administration.
Dr Nina Kuckländer studied physics at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität in Düsseldorf (Germany), where she graduated in 2001 with a degree in statistical physics from the Institute for Theoretical Physics III. She received her PhD at the interdisciplinary VW junior research group "Theoretical Ecology" of the Nonlinear Dynamics Group at the Institute for Physics and Astronomy, Potsdam University (Germany) in 2006. The subject of her PhD thesis was the analysis of synchronization of nonlinear ecological systems via correlated (environmental) noise and automatic control using analytic methods and numerical simulations. Already during her studies, she worked as the Linux system administrator for her university working groups.
Dr Nina Kuckländer advocates the philosophy of open source.
