Stephan Gürtler works as a Research Assistant at Ecologic Institute. His work focuses on issues related to environmental governance, plastics in the environment, environmental communication as well as public participation. He works in German and English and has basic knowledge of French.
Stephan Gürtler works primarily in the project PlastikNet, the scientific coordination of research projects on "Plastic in the environment – sources, sinks, solutions".
Before starting at Ecologic Institute in his current position, Stephan Guertler supported the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung in the field of content management and social media. Furthermore, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Chair of International Organisations and Policies at the University of Potsdam.
Stephan Gürtler worked as an Assistant Content Manager for the Ecologic Institute Web Team until 2014, where he was involved in the editing of the website and the monthly newsletter. He also contributed in the fields of environmental communication, knowledge management, and web design.
Stephan Gürtler is currently pursuing his Master's degree in political science at the University of Potsdam with a focus on international relations as well as political theory. He holds a Bachelor's in Politics, Administration and Economics from the University of Potsdam. During his studies, he spent a semester abroad at the University of Sunderland (United Kingdom). Before beginning his studies, he completed a year of environmental volunteer work (FÖJ) at Ecologic Institute in 2010.
