Miriam Wiemers worked as an Intern at Ecologic Institute in 2012. Her interests mainly include development policy, intercultural exchange, human rights, and the promotion of democracy. With German as her mother tongue, she also speaks English, French, Spanish, and a little bit of Arabic.
She was mainly supporting the evaluation of the German National Climate Initiative (NKI).
Miriam Wiemers first gained practical experience through other internships, e.g., with the parliamentary faction of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in the local council of Münster (Germany) as well as at the Wilhelmsschule Emsdetten (Germany). Apart from that, she also did volunteer work in Nicaragua with the NGO La Esperanza Granada.
This internship at Ecologic Institute is part of Miriam's studies for the International Bachelor’s Degree in Political Management at Hochschule Bremen, University of Applied Sciences (Germany).
Miriam gathered her first experiences abroad during her time at school, going to school abroad in Chile, Israel, France, and Great Britain. She has also supported the youth work of the St. Gottfried Münster Community for several years. Miriam is also a proud member of the student council, the departmental commission, and the General Students' Committee (AStA) at her university.
