Dr. Christine Jasch
Christine Jasch is founder and manager of the Vienna Institute for Environmental Economics and Management (IÖW) and was a partner at Ecologic Institute. She studied Political Economy, Business Administration and Agriculture, and works as an independent Tax Advisor and Certified Public Accountant in Vienna. She is the Austrian delegate to ISO TC 207 Environmental Management and chairperson at the equivalent mirror group at the Austrian Standardisation Body. She is also registered as the Principal Environmental Auditor at the Environmental Auditor Registration Association (EARA) in the UK, and is accredited as lead verifier under the EMAS regulation in Austria. She has postdoctoral qualification in environmental economics and management, and teaches at the University of Agriculture in Vienna.
Current working areas include environmental performance evaluation and sustainability indicators, integrated management systems, environmental and sustainability accounting, ethical investment, sustainability reporting, sustainable (home)services and product service systems.
Recent work include the book on principles and procedures for environmental management accounting (EMA) for the United Nations Division for Sustainable Development, Working group on EMA, as well as the IFAC Guidance document on EMA. She annually organises the Austrian Environmental and Sustainability Reporting Award for the Austrian chamber of accountants and auditors.
