Kerstin Völker had been working for Ecologic Institute from 2001 to 2012, where she was responsible for the Institute's library.
Kerstin Völker was assembling and expanding the Konrad von Moltke Library. The Konrad von Moltke Library was founded in memory of the environmentalist Konrad von Moltke(1941-2005) and consists of his private library. Until his death in 2005, Konrad von Moltke was a partner and great supporter of Ecologic Institute. Key aspects of the collection are Investment and Trade, International Environmental Affairs and Governance as well as European Environmental Policy and Law. The Library consists of around 1,000 books, journals, conference reports and gray literature, some of which is autographed. The majority of the items are in English. As part of the Service Team, Kerstin Völker was also responsible for internal quality management and the organisational development of the Institute. She works in German and English and has a basic knowledge of Russian.
Until August 2007, Kerstin Völker worked in the field of Conference Management preparing and organising events on European and international environmental policy.
Kerstin Völker began working with Ecologic Institute as a student. She studied archive management and documentation at the Fachhochschule Potsdam (University of Applied Sciences). During her studies, she had the opportunity to do several internships, including at the Public Records Office in the Swiss canton of Lucerne and the National Archives of Malta.
