Dr. Simon Marr LLM
Dr Simon Marr works at the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) where he is in charge of climate policy matters of the European Union (EU). From 2005 to 2009 Dr Simon Marr worked at the Environment Directorate-General of the European Commission (EC), where he was involved in the operation and supervision of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) and the development of a global carbon market within the UNFCCC process. Prior to this he held positions as Legal Advisor at the German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt) and Senior Fellow at Ecologic Institute Berlin from 2001 to 2004. Dr Simon Marr is also the author and co-author of numerous books and articles in the field of climate change and international and European environmental law, and is managing editor of the Journal for European Environmental and Planning Law.
