Nicholas Den Haan
Nicholas den Haan was an Intern at the Washington, DC office of Ecologic Institute. His interest lie mainly in international law, specifically international environmental and humanitarian law. He works in English and can speak a very basic level of Spanish.
Nicholas is currently finishing his third and final year at American University. He will graduate with his JD from American University in May 2013. During his undergraduate studies, Nicholas studied philosophy, political science, and ancient Greek history at Ohio State University, graduating in March 2009.
Since entering law school, Nicholas has traveled extensively, including a 4-month stay in Dundee, Scotland, where he participated in a study abroad program at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEMLP). There his focus was on international environmental law, taking courses in climate change law and downstream energy law.
In his free time, Nicholas also works as a professional photographer, shooting film on a Hasselblad 500cm. During college and before entering law school in August of 2010, he worked as a sword-chef at an asian barbeque in Columbus, Ohio, eventually ascending to the rank of Grill Captain.
