At Ecologic Institute, Julia Wiedemann worked as an Assistant Event Manager. She helped with the preparation, implementation, and follow-up of national, European, and international environmental policy events. Her working languages are German and English, and she possesses advanced knowledge of French and of Spanish.
She aided the planning and implementation of conferences, visitor programs, and summer schools by working with sponsors.
Julia Wiedemann gained previous experience in political event management with the private agency lab-concepts in Bonn (Germany) and with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) where she helped to prepare international conferences concerned with development cooperation and adaptation to climate change in water, energy, and food security. For several months in 2010, Julia volunteered with the campaigns team of the environmental NGO Canopy in Vancouver (Canada).
Julia Wiedemann is currently completing a Master's degree in Political Sociology at Freie University in Berlin (FU Berlin, Germany). While pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences at Humboldt University in Berlin (HU Berlin, Germany), Julia spent a semester abroad at Sciences Po in Paris (France). There she focused on studies in environmental politics and has since then developed a special research interest in the links between social sciences and climate change.
