Ruth Haake completed her practical training at Ecologic Institute from November 2018 to November 2019. Together with the visual designers, she supported the scientific and policy-related environmental work of the Institute through the creative graphic design of information, such as infographics, logos, illustrations, diagrams and printed products. Ruth works in German and English and has a basic knowledge of French.
Ruth's work focused on the compilation of infographics, such as the comparative presentation of the environmental effects of meat and soy products, and a self-responsible video production, from concept to rendering, for the European research project "Resource Efficient Food and dRink for the Entire Supply cHain” (REFRESH). Within the project "Trend Analysis Resource Policy" for the Federal Environment Agency, Ruth was responsible for the graphic implementation and preparation of the print and digital versions of the "Resource Policy Trend Report". She also contributed her expertise as a digital media designer to the (further) development of logos and various website elements. She played a major role in the visualisation of the interactive "AQUACROSS Ecosystem-Based Management Cookbook of Water Ecosystems for practitioners".
Ruth supported Ecologic Institute's communication work by preparing various visual materials (from posters to Twitter images) and the Ecologic Events Team by creating graphical event equipment (from programme booklets to event banners).
Before joining Ecologic Institute, Ruth spent her Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) in the Nature Park House of the Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft Nature Park. There she created information boards, website banners and conceived educational programmes for children and young people, who she also accompanied on site.
Since 2017, Ruth has been training as a digital and print media designer at GPB Berlin.
