Sustainability Standards for Biofuels

In April 2007 the European Commission (DG Transport and Energy) launched a public consultation on “Biofuel issues in the new legislation on the promotion of renewable energy”. Within this project, the European Environment Agency contracted Ecologic and Alterra to respond to the Commission’s public consultation with regard to how a biofuel sustainability system should be designed to avoid major biodiversity loss from land use change.

International Dialogue on Ecological Policy

The Multi-State Working Group on Environmental Performance (MSWG) in the United States held its annual workshop 2007 as "An International Dialogue on Ecological Policy" on 18-20 June 2007 in Madison, Wisconsin, and invited Ecologic Institute to contribute European perspectives. Peter Kessler spoke on environmental innovation in practice, Ingmar von Homeyer on innovative environmental governance and regulation in the EU, and R. Feasibility Study: European Sustainability Award
