McCloy Fellowships in Environmental Affairs

News

The American Council on Germany (ACG) is seeking applications for the McCloy Fellowships in Environmental Affairs. The fellowships offer German and American professionals the opportunity to travel overseas for up to 28 days to conduct research and pursue self-designed projects. Transatlantic airfare, approved inter-city travel and a per diem stipend of $150 are included in the award. As the German partner of the ACG, Ecologic promotes the fellowship program and facilitates intellectual ties among the McCloy Fellows and environmental professionals.

Past McCloy Fellows in Environmental Affairs have analyzed facets of environmental policy such as sustainable development and economic growth, transatlantic environmental partnerships, and transportation systems.

Fellows submit a report about their research and notify the American Council on Germany of publications or events that evolve out of the fellowship. The ACG’s alumni program also enables past McCloy Fellows to maintain rewarding professional networks years after the fellowship has ended.

Applicants must hold U.S. or German citizenship. Young professionals working in the environmental field, as well as academics and scholars of environmental affairs, are encouraged to apply. To apply, please submit:

  1. a cover letter outlining personal and professional objectives for the fellowship;
  2. a curriculum vitae;
  3. a project proposal of at least two pages describing what you intend to research and your main objectives; and
  4. two letters of recommendation (preferred) or contact information for two references.

Applications are received and reviewed on a rolling basis and should be sent to:
