Ecologic Institute runs ahead with two teams

In a dramatic neck-and-neck race, Team Ecologic Institute Berlin won with a mere 12 second advantage over Team Ecologic Institute Washington DC in the 2009 Berliner Wasserwerke 5x5 km relay. Overall, the Ecologic Institute’s Teams finished in 429th and 441st place, respectively. An Ecologic cheerleader team, equipped with blue pom poms, franticly inspired the runners with heavy "puschling". The Ecologic Institute’s teams ran the 25 kilometers in a time of 1:57:17 (Ecologic Institute Berlin) and 1:57:29 (Ecologic Institute Washington DC). The fastest team in the competition took 1 hour and 17 minutes to complete the race. Altogether, 3071 teams participated. The race took place on 10-12 June, 2009 at Berlin Tiergarten.
