On 2 July 2020, Dr. Martin Hirschnitz-Garbers and Dr. Stephan Sina from Ecologic Institute, together with Susanne Altvater from s.Pro, gave a keynote presentation "Reflections on extended producer responsibility under the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive" at the working group "Implementation of the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive" and discussed it with the participants. The working group is a working group within the framework of the Government Commission of Lower Saxony for Sustainable Environmental Policy and Digital Change, which is accompanying the implementation of the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive in national and, if applicable, state law. The event took place online.

The keynote speech was based on preliminary results from the project "The EU Directive on Disposable Plastics and Fishing Gear" for the German Federal Environment Agency.
