On 3 December 2014, the first progress report from the Federal Government and a joint statement from the Expert Commission about the "Energy of the Future" monitoring process were presented. Ecologic Institute supports the work of the Expert Commission by providing scientific input. The joint statement from the Expert Commission is available for download.

In its statement, the expert commission identified that important targets such as the greenhouse gas emission target and the energy efficiency targets will not be met with existing measures. Therefore, the commission welcomes the that the government has proposed new meaures in order to achieve the targets and its clear commitment to climate protection. These new measures need to be implemented in a timely manner to ensure the credibility of the energy transition process. The joint statement is available for download.

The independent Expert Commission, composed of Prof. Dr. Andreas Löschel, Prof. Dr. Georg Erdmann, Prof. Dr. Frithjof Staiß and Dr. Hans-Joachim Ziesing, provides scientific support and deliveres a joint statement on the goverment's monitoring process "Energy of the Future". The government implemented the monitoring process to keep track of targets of the German "Energiewende".

Ecologic Institute provides scientific support to the work of the Expert Commission with a focus on the key topics that Dr. Hans-Joachim Ziesing and the Expert Commission selected for their joint statement.
