Antonia Riedel is a Researcher at Ecologic Institute, specialising in agricultural and land use policy as well as the agri-food system. She works at the intersection of environmental governance, sustainability transitions, and rural development. Antonia works fluently in both English and German.

At Ecologic Institute, Antonia contributes to several European and national research projects. She is currently involved in the H2020 SPRINT project, focusing on transition pathways towards sustainable plant protection, and contributes to a capacity-building initiative supporting agri-food system transformation in Central Eastern Europe.

She also supports research on the assessment and evaluation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and national CAP Strategic Plans, offering analytical insights into policy design, implementation, and effectiveness.

Antonia leads the stakeholder engagement work of the Mission Implementation Platform for the EU Mission 'A Soil Deal for Europe', facilitating knowledge exchange, inclusive dialogue, and co-creation processes.

In earlier projects, she contributed to evaluating the role of soils in climate change mitigation and explored alternatives to synthetic chemical pesticides in a study for Friends of the Earth Germany (BUND). She was also involved in the development of Living Labs for Agroecology under the ALL-Ready project.

Antonia's broader interests lie in qualitative social research at the interface of agri-environmental policy, sustainable agriculture, rural sociology, particularly where these domains intersect with ecological transformation and stakeholder-led research and innovation.

Antonia Riedel holds a master's degree of science in Integrated Natural Resource Management from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany). For her thesis, Antonia developed and implemented indicators to evaluate the creation of actionable knowledge for farmers in participatory action research.
