Ecologic Institute Receives Robert Bosch Stiftung Grant to Continue ELEEP Network

News

Ecologic Institute, Berlin and its partners, Ecologic Institute, Washington DC and the Atlantic Council of the United States, were awarded a grant by the Robert Bosch Stiftung for their recently launched Emerging Leaders in Environmental and Energy Policy Network (ELEEP).

ELEEP, a first-of-its-kind, online network for mid-career professionals in the environmental and energy fields, was formed as part of the I-CITE project funded by the European Union's External Action Service (EEAS). The first ELEEP event was a study tour to Detroit and Pittsburgh in early January 2012 looking at the ways in which leaders from politics, business, civil society, and charitable foundations are contributing to the sustainable transformation of each city. The second ELEEP study tour took place in Northern Germany and Denmark in mid-March 2012; the subjects of that tour were the transformation of energy systems, the future role of natural gas, and electric vehicles. This grant from the Robert Bosch Stiftung will enable the extension of ELEEP's activities through the end of 2012, including the addition of two study tours in the second half of 2012 and the financial support for ELEEP members to attend conferences and other external events in the US and the EU.
