On 12 November 2013, Christiane Gerstetter of the Ecologic Institute presented the EU-funded project "European Union Action to Fight Environmental Crime" (EFFACE) during a seminar on environmental crime at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. Ecologic Institute is the coordinator of the EFFACE project. The presentation slides are available for download.

The seminar on "Environmental Crime and the World" was held at on 11/12 November 2013. The seminar brought together researchers, mainly criminologists, and practitioners  from police forces of various EU countries to discuss issues regarding transnational environmental crime. Presentations were held on topics such as the role of the police in combating transnational environmental crime, illegal waste trafficking and dumping, illegal fishing, or wildlife crime.

The seminar was co-organised by Rob White (University of Tasmania), a Member of the EFFACE Advisory Board.

Christiane Gerstetter's presentation on EFFACE focused on the content and aims of the project which seeks to develop recommendations addressed at the EU for combating environmental crime.

The overall aim of EFFACE is to develop policy recommendations aimed at EU (and its Member States) on how to better combat environmental crime.
