Beese, Karin et al. (eds.) 2014: Anpassung an regionale Klimafolgen kommunizieren. Konzepte, Herausforderungen und Perspektiven. [KLIMZUG-Reihe: Klimawandel in Regionen zukunftsfähig gestalten 2]: oekom Verlag.

Climate change is not only a global problem. It will also have concrete consequences for the people in Germany. On-time adaptation can be achieved only when future climate change and its consequences are successfully communicated. With their book "Communicating Adaptation to Regional Climate Change. Concepts, Challenges, and Perspectives", Karin Beese (Ecologic Institute), Miriam Fekkak, Christine Katz, Claudia Körner, and Heike Molitor enter the new area of "Communicating Adaptation." Through a collection of articles by 50 authors, the book presents theoretical approaches and reports of practical implementation – from online-databases to innovative events, movies and hands-on mediation up to art and cultural projects.

The book will be published as second volume of the KLIMZUG-series "Managing Climate Change in the Regions for the Future." KLIMZUG is a funding strategy, initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in Germany (BMBF), which is dedicated to the regional challenges of climate change. Ecologic Institute leads the project RADOST (Regional Adaptation Strategies for the German Baltic Sea Coast), one of the seven projects that are being funded for five years.

On-time adaptation can be achieved only when future climate change and its consequences are successfully communicated.
