On 19 November 2014, Dr. Stephan Sina, Senior Fellow at Ecologic Institute, presented the European research project "European Union Action to Fight Environmental Crime (EFFACE)" at the 4th Annual General Meeting of the European Network for Environmental Crime (EnviCrimeNet) in The Hague (Netherlands). Ecologic Institute is the coordinator of the EFFACE project. The presentation slides are available for download.

EnviCrimeNet is an informal network of practitioners combating environmental crime.The 4th Annual General Meeting, hosted by Europol, took place on 19 and 20 November. Most presentations were held by law enforcement members.

Stephan Sina's presentation focused on the content and aims of the project which seeks to develop recommendations addressed primarily at the EU for combating environmental crime. He also included some preliminary results of the comparison of several country studies.

The overall aim of EFFACE is to develop policy recommendations aimed at EU (and its Member States) on how to better combar environmental crime.
