The ELEEP Network podcast series focuses on current developments in climate and energy policy on both sides of the Atlantic, delivering in-depth discussion and expert interviews on a range of pressing topics directly to your mobile device. The latest four episodes feature insights from the June 2017 ELEEP conference on "Tipping Points - Finding the Energy Climate Balance," including keynote talks by some of the brightest minds in the field. The ELEEP Network podcast series is made possible through funding from the European Commission and the Alliance Foundation for North America. The first episode of the ELEEP Network podcast (06 January 2017) series features a conversation on "efficiency first" with Edith Bayer (Associate, Regulatory Assistance Project).

Ep. 2: "Climate Adaptation in the EU" – ELEEP Study Tour Recap

Episode 2 of the ELEEP Podcast Series was released on 27 March 2017 and features a discussion with 2016-2017 ELEEP Fellows, Andrea Illés and Julia Elkin, on the recent study tour on climate adaptation measures in the EU.

Ep. 3: "Energy Democracy" – An Interview with Craig Morris (IASS)

Energy democracy is when communities and private citizens take control over their own energy production and has been a major driving force behind the rapid uptake of renewable energy in Germany and Denmark. However, the manifold benefits of the energy democracy paradigm are often left out of policy discussions involving distributed renewable energy systems and climate mitigation. In Episode 3, 2016-2017 ELEEP fellow Alexander Franke speaks with author Craig Morris about his recent book, Energy Democracy: Germany's Energiewende to Renewables.

Ep. 4: "Climate Adaptation in California" – ELEEP Study Tour Recap

Episode 4 of the ELEEP Podcast Series was released on 08 August 2017 and features a discussion with 2016-2017 ELEEP Fellows, Andrea Illés, Julia Elkin and Salem Afeworki on their recent study tour on climate adaptation measures in California.

Special Episode: Interview with Amory Lovins on Disruptive Oil Futures

In this special episode of the ELEEP podcast series, Dr. Camilla Bausch (Director of Ecologic Institute) sits down with Amory Lovins (co-founder and Chief Scientist of the Rocky Mountain Institute) to discuss the disruptive forces shaping the future of the oil industry, their impact on the German car industry and the state of the German energy transition.

Ep. 5: "A Framework for Innovation" Jigar Shah (Keynote) - Insights from the ELEEP Tipping Points Conference

Episodes 5-8 of the ELEEP network podcast present insights recorded live from a conference organized by the Atlantic Council and Ecologic Institute, which took place June 21-22 in Washington DC. Episode 5 presents a keynote by clean energy entrepreneur Jigar Shah, president and co-founder of Generate Capital. He is also co-host of the popular podcast Energy Gang, which investigates the technological, political and market forces that drive energy decisions and environmental issues.

Ep. 6: "A Discussion with Dr. Ernest Moniz" - Insights the ELEEP Tipping Points Conference

In episode 6, we present a discussion with former US Secretary of Energy, the honorable Dr. Ernest Moniz. The discussion is moderated by Dr. Ali Ahmad, Director of the Energy Policy and Security Program at the American University of Beirut (and a Millennium Fellow at the Atlantic Council).

Ep. 7: "Innovations for Behavioral Change" Alex Laskey - Insights from the ELEEP Tipping Points Conference

Episode 7 features a keynote by Alex Laskey, president and founder of Opower, an innovative energy company that partners with utilities to provide customers with personalized consumption feedback. Alex Laskey speaks about the nexus of energy and information technologies.

Ep. 8: "Paris Agreement: Where do we go from here?" - Insights from the ELEEP Tipping Points Conference

Episode 8 presents a panel discussion on the future of the Paris Climate Agreement. The conference panel included Dr. Jennifer Turner, Director of the China Environment Forum at the Wilson Center; Matthias Duwe, Head of Climate at Ecologic Institute; and David Livingston, Associate Fellow at the Energy and Climate Program of the Carnegie Endowment for international Peace and was moderated by former ambassador, Richard Morningstar, founding director of the Global Energy Center at the Atlantic Council.
