Ecologic Institute was ranked one of the top ten European think tanks in the "2012 ICCG Climate Think Tank Ranking." The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) was ranked the best climate think tank in Europe.

The International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG), founded in 2009, conducted its first worldwide evaluation of climate think tanks in 2012. The criteria for evaluation of the think tanks assigned different weights to the following areas: events organized by the think tank, its scholarly publications, involvement in international events and fora, and projects and events carried out with the European Commission.

"We are happy to celebrate the institute's 8^th place ranking in the list of 'overall level of influence'. Even under the ICCG's 'standard' ranking system, which takes into account the size of think tanks, we are still in the top 25," says R. Andreas Kraemer, Director of Ecologic Institute in Berlin. "We are a broad-based research institution that is still relevant in the field of climate."

Ecologic Institute's work covers the entire spectrum of environmental issues, including the integration of environmental concerns into other policies. Ecologic Institute was founded in 1995 as a non-profit organization and has since stood out for its strong commitment to transatlantic cooperation, with offices in Brussels, Washington, DC, and California.

Over the last three years, Ecologic Institute has achieved a high ranking in other think tank rankings, whose methodology includes interviews with politicians, journalists, and relevant experts. The awards from the ICCG will be conferred at the end of June during an event in Toulouse.
