Martha von Maltzahn supports the Ecologic Institute as a Research Assistant in the biodiversity team. She speaks German and English fluently and has basic knowledge of French.

At Ecologic Institute, Martha von Maltzahn focuses primarily on nature restoration at the national level and in the Alpine region. She works on the project “Alpine Biodiversity Action Plan”, which provides scientific support for Germany’s Presidency of the Alpine Convention. She is also involved in the project “Supporting the National Implementation of Nature Restoration Targets”, which contributes to the planning and implementation of national restoration plans.

Previously, Martha von Maltzahn worked at the Institute for Alpine Environment at Eurac Research on the influence of landscape structures on indicator species in the context of the EU Nature Restoration Regulation.

Martha von Maltzahn studies Landscape Ecology at the University of Münster (Germany). She is particularly interested in the use of remote sensing in environmental monitoring and the impacts of land-use change on biodiversity.
