This interactive illustration combines all recommendations for action (a total of 39 proposed measures) from the STErn project and shows the time frame in which they should be implemented.

This publication provides a quantitative overview of the development and status of environmental crime in Germany between 2010 and 2020, with a supplementary presentation for the year 2021, based on data from the police crime statistics ("Polizeiliche Kriminalstatistik"), as well as statistics from the Federal Statistical Office's criminal prosecution ("Strafverfolgungsstatistik"). The report provides both an overview of general trends and an in-depth account of individual environmental offences. Additionally, the publication contains data on administrative offences relating to the trafficking of protected species. The report was prepared by a team from Ecologic Institute on behalf of the German Federal Environment Agency.

This draft report compiles seven legal discussion papers that were produced as part of a research project for the Federal Environment Ministry on modernising soil protection law. The discussion papers serve as a technical basis for preparing a draft bill and address the challenges identified by the BMUV in an evaluation (white paper of March 2022). The discussion papers elaborate several options and explain their pros and cons. They are intended to stimulate a broader technical discussion on soil protection law.

On 21 June 2023, the final conference of the "Dialogforum private Haushalte" (dialogue forum private housholds) took place at TU Berlin. During the conference, the project team presented the results of their various data collection-efforts, including those of the Citizen Science Project "Deutschland rettet Lebensmittel" (Germany saves food), as well as representative surveys. These provide important insights into the effectiveness of measures to reduce food waste in private households.

The Berlin Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment (SenMVKU) organised an online expert dialogue on the topic of "Promoting repair through networks and repair bonuses" on 6 June 2023. Good practice examples were presented and potentials, challenges and measures to promote repair were discussed with the participation of experts from business, civil society and politics.

This report presents a work plan for incorporating the issue of pharmaceuticals in the environment into the education of the medical and pharmaceutical professions in Germany. It first presents an overview of the relevant German structures in the education and training of medical and pharmaceutical professions. In a second step, it provides concrete recommendations for the integration of the topic into teaching (studies and vocational training), continuing education and training.

The discussion on the certification of carbon removals seems technical, but it is one of the central debates in EU climate policy. It is primarily intended to pave the way for the integration of CO₂ removals into emissions trading. Dr. Stephan Sina, Senior Fellow at Ecologic Institute, gave a presentation on environmental criminal law at the Transfer Talk on Environmental Crime at the Criminological Research Center (KKF). He gave an overview of statistical developments, structural peculiarities of environmental criminal law, challenges in prosecution and the ongoing amendment of the EU's Environmental Crime Directive.
