Towards Sustainable Development Goals

Gewässerökologische Charakterisierung silikatischer Mittelgebirgsbäche im Kellerwald als Beitrag zur Fließgewässerbewertung

The small coarse siliceous substrate dominated highland streams within the ecoregion Kellerwald belong to one the most understudied water systems in Germany. This study provides for the first time a comprehensive integrated ecological characterisation for these streams and adjacent floodplains. The study contributes therefore to the discussion on the methodology of regional river typology and to the development of integrated assessment methods for rivers. Read more

Sustainable Development in the European Union – 2013 Key Messages

2013 Monitoring Report of the EU Sustainable Development Strategy
The Eurostat monitoring report, based on the EU set of sustainable development indicators and published every two years, provides an objective, statistical picture of progress towards the goals and objectives of the EU SDS. This 'lite' version of the 2013 monitoring report makes use of the universal language of visuals, offering a shortcut to the essence of the messages delivered through the full version of the monitoring report. Further Development of Raw Material Input Indicators

Indicators are essential for measuring the performance of resource policy and communication of goal achievement. The underlying purpose of the project "Further Development of Raw Material Input Indicators – Methodological Discussion and Approaches for Consistent Datasets" is to analyze the existing indicators with their underlying methodologies, as well as the need for their further development, and to develop proposals for their harmonization. The Ecologic Institute coordinates the project, conducts expert interviews and workshops and develops a concept for methodological harmonisation.Read more
