To assist provincial authorities in Vietnam with the preparation of air quality management plans, UfU and Ecologic Institute have developed a package of three publications with concrete activities and recommendations for immediate action.

In 2020, Vietnam has revised its Law on Environmental Protection and now, for the first time, requires the development of air quality management plans in all provinces from 2022 on. In order to support this process, UfU and Ecologic Institute have prepared a table with air quality management activities for, among others, the agricultural sector, the construction sector, the energy sector and the transport sector. The table is accompanied by a manual to guide provincial authorities in the use of the table.

Since air pollution is a pressing issue in Vietnam, UfU and Ecologic have also developed a toolbox for immediate action that can be used by provincial authorities to take action before the air quality management plans have been adopted. The toolbox also identifies emission reduction measures for immediate action in different sectors, including the energy sector, the transport sector, the construction sector and the agricultural sector.
