From Fossil to Future Fuels - 5. British-German Environment Forum in Berlin

German Federal Minister for the Environment Jürgen Trittin and the British Minister for Farming, Food and Sustainable Energy Lord Whitty of Camberwell opened the 5. British-German Environment Forum (BGEF). This year's event was dedicated to discussing strategies how to process "From Fossil to Future Fuels".

The participants discussed in three working groups:

  • Security of supply and reduction of the economic dependence on fossil fuel imports 
  • Promotion of sustainable energy-efficient practices and technologies
  • German-British co-operation in international energy policy

The 5. BGEF took place on 5-6 February 2004 in Berlin. R. Andreas Kraemer, Ecologic, is an initiator and co-ordinator of the BGEF.
