EU Reform Process after the European Elections: What role for climate and energy policy?
Europe voted on 26 May. The constitutive session of the new European Parliament took place from 1 to 4 July 2019. The new political parties will meet on 1 July. In the second half of the year, the new Commission and the new European Council leadership are elected. At the end of June, the European Council will discuss the EU's strategic agenda for 2019-2024. Against this background, the event will discuss the future of the EU and its role in climate and energy policy. What contributions can climate and energy policy make to a strong EU and how can the EU reform process contribute to climate and energy policy?
Ecologic Institute has had around 120 discussions on these issues in 12 Member States over the last 18 months and would like to discuss the findings. In addition, the results of a working group with members from EU institutions, business and science will be presented.
