Duration

The project aims to provide expert policy advice to the GTZ by analysing legal, institutional and policy aspects of the international climate policy with a particular focus on issues of Germany and the EU. One of the main focus is the area of flexibility mechanism and in particular the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Ecologic also supports the GTZ at conferences and the organisation and implementation of side events.

The climate protection program for developing countries (CaPP) is a supranational project with the main focus on the realisation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The GTZ is concernd with the realisation of CaPP. The support of Ecologic comprised aspects to the further developement of the international climate protection regime after 2012. In the context of the further development of the responsibility for the protection of climate, the task of Ecologic is to provide an innovative concept, especially with flexible mechanisms and CDM. Ecologic analyses the compatibility of different models for additional climate protection regimes and their requirements.
