Aitana Mollyk Rodriguez supports Ecologic Institute’s Climate Programme as a Research Assistant. A native speaker of Spanish, she works in German, English and Portuguese and has a working knowledge of French.
Her research interests centre on German and European climate policy and its socioeconomic impacts. She is also interested in international climate policy processes under the UNFCCC, climate justice, climate resilience and risk management.
Before joining Ecologic Institute, Aitana Mollyk Rodriguez gained experience in international development cooperation on climate action through internships with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Berlin and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture in Costa Rica. She also worked as a research assistant at the Mercator Endowed Chair for Sociology at the University of Hamburg, contributing to projects on German climate policy in the European context and on international climate policy.
Alongside her work at Ecologic Institute, Aitana Mollyk Rodriguez is pursuing a Master’s degree in Peace and Security Studies at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH), with a focus on sustainable development and the climate–security nexus. She previously completed her bachelor's degree in Socioeconomics (B.A.) at the University of Hamburg.
