On 27 August 2012, Dr. Hans-Joachim Ziesing, together with Doris Knoblauch of Ecologic Institute, presented the results of an evaluation of the German directive regarding the funding of climate mitigation projects in social, cultural, and public institutions within the framework of the National Climate Initiative ("Richtlinie zur Förderung von Klimaschutzprojekten in sozialen, kulturellen und öffentlichen Einrichtungen im Rahmen der Klimaschutzinitiative", short: Kommunalrichtlinie) on the occasion of the final conference of the project "Evaluation of the National Climate Protection Initiative" in Berlin. As part of the Berlin Program of Duke University of Durham, North Carolina, R. Andreas Kraemer will this fall again teach on European integration and environmental policy in the context of transatlantic relations.

Ecologic Institute is proud to be launching its 2012 Arctic Summer College, a virtual course and network aiming to strengthen Arctic communication and build a lasting, policy-oriented network of Arctic professionals. Policy briefs and videos of speaker presentations will be made publicly available on the Arctic Summer College website following each weekly seminar.

During the 2nd VDI conference on biogas Dr. Wolfgang Urban from Ecologic Institute presented technical options for a grid-compatible biogas feed such as conditioning of liquefied natural gas, the formation of heating value districts, computational heating value tracking and additional gas supply. He classified the different options and discussed the economic aspects. The presentation slides are available for download.

The 22st Climate Talk on 25 June 2012 occupies itself with the question: which impetuses for international climate policy will expand out from the Rio+20 Conference? The debate at the event, organized by Ecologic Institute in cooperation with the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), was opened by Dr. Karsten Sach (BMU), Dr. Thomas Koenen (BDI), and Daniel Mittler (Greenpeace), who were all fresh back from Rio.

<p>With the slogan, "Every Drop Counts," the 12th edition of Green Week, the biggest annual conference on European environmental policy, took place from the 22 to the 25 May in Brussels, Belgium. With the focus this year being on water, Ecologic Institute disseminated information, best practices, and lessons learned from a number of high-profile projects carried out on behalf of the DG Environment and DG Research &amp; Innovation of the European Commission, the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), and other sponsors.</p>&#13;
