We are excited to announce the third webinar in our POLIMP Webinar Series, which will feature a discussion on the topic: "EU climate policy for 2030: why are we talking about governance?". The webinar will take place on Wednesday, 28 October from 11:00-12:00 CET and will feature guest speakers Jonathan Gaventa (E3G) and Katharina Umpfenbach (Ecologic Institute).

On 15 September 2015, the POLIMP project consortium will host its final expert workshop at Ecologic Institute in Berlin (Germany). The one day workshop will focus on low-carbon technology support policies in the EU, with special attention given to financing, public acceptance and emissions trading. Each of these will feature introductory input from the project, contrasted with an external policy expert perspective (from research, government and business) to start conversation among participants. The presentations and discussion will be augmented by the perspectives of up to 40 external experts working in research, government and business.

Do you need a quick overview of climate targets in the EU? Or have you wanted to find out about stakeholder perspectives on the EU Emissions Trading System? The Climate Policy Info Hub gives the answers and provides insights on consequences of possible climate policy directions.

The infographic allows giving an overview of the climate policies of the EU. It shows the main economic sectors, such as Energy, Industry, Transport, Residential and Commercial, Agriculture and Forestry, Waste. It also displays which policies have been deployed for each of them under the three main target areas: greenhouse gases, renewables, and efficiency. The infographic was part of an article about the European climate policy mix on the Climate Policy Info Hub website.

The international community has come up with numerous and often complex suggestions for the design of a new climate agreement to be adopted during the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP21) in Paris in 2015 (‘2015 Agreement’). These design options are currently being discussed under Workstream 1 of the ‘Ad-hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action’ (ADP) by Parties to the UNFCCC. This report provides a practical criteria matrix to assist policy makers in evaluating and comparing different proposals for the 2015 Agreement.

How can climate policies be designed, what impacts do they have and what other options are there? These are important questions to stakeholders and policy-makers. The project POLIMP aims at making answers to these issues more easily accessible and understandable. To this end, POLIMP examines knowledge gaps for different policy and decision-making levels and covers these with the help of existing research results. The outcomes are communicated and discussed through a series of events, publications and an interactive online knowledge platform.
