Max Rath works as a Legal Trainee at Ecologic Institute, where he primarily supports the Ecologic Legal Team. He is involved in various environmental law issues, particularly in the context of several Arctic-related projects. In addition, he contributes to a project on guidelines for managing water scarcity. He works in German and English.
Previous stages of his legal traineeship included the law firm BeckerBüttnerHeld (BBH), where he worked on a wide range of mandates relating to environmental and energy law issues, and the Senate Department for Urban Development and Construction.
After his first state examination, which he completed in 2019 at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Max worked at the law firm Gaßner, Groth, Siederer und Coll. (GGSC) as a research assistant in environmental, nature, energy and construction (planning) law from 2019 to 2021. Before starting his legal clerkship, he further specialized in international environmental and maritime law as part of a master's degree at the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands).
