Bianca Schwirtz supports the Agriculture and Land Use Teams as an Intern. Her research focuses on the ecological and just transition of the agri-food system, with a particular interest in European policies. She is a native French speaker, is fluent in English, and has a basic knowledge of German and Spanish.

At Ecologic Institute, Bianca Schwirtz primarily conducts research and policy analysis on carbon removal and carbon farming. She is involved in two Horizon Europe projects, "A European-wide Network of Pilot Farmers for a Carbon Neutral Europe" (Climate Farm Demo) and "Carbon Farming Monitoring and Registry" (CAFAMORE), through which she helps to evaluate policy frameworks, develop solid policy instruments and draft recommendations with the aim of facilitating the implementation of carbon storage by farmers.

Bianca Schwirtz’s work at Ecologic Institute builds on her previous experience. She has always sought to drive the ecological transition at various levels: by advising France’s first agricultural forest (La forêt nous regale); by raising public awareness of the issues surrounding plastic pollution during an internship with the NGO Surfrider Foundation Europe; by supporting companies in complying with European CSRD standards whilst working for a CSR strategy consultancy (Haatch), and by working with Reims City Council on the city’s green spaces.

Bianca Schwirtz holds a Bachelor's degree in Politics and Government from Sciences Po Paris and is currently studying for a Master's degree in Environmental Policy from Paris School of International Affairs (Sciences Po Paris), specializing in environmental law and European affairs.
