Japan finds herself at a cross-road concerning its position and role in international climate protection policy. Economically and strategically caught between China and the United States - competing as well as cooperating with both - a balance between climate change mitigation and adaptation needs to be found. R. Andreas Kraemer of Ecologic was invited to the International Symposium "Future International Framework on Climate Change (Post-Kyoto) and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)" to speak about and explain "Policy Trends in Germany and the European Union".
