<p>&#13; Building from previous work related to technology transfer within the international climate change negotiations, Dominic Marcellino, Fellow at Ecologic Institute, gave an overview of the current state of the negotiations and needs for diffusion at a conference held by the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS).</p>&#13;

Ecologic Institute writes a legal commentary on the German PRTR-Act. Under this law and an EU-Regulation, operators of certain installations in Germany have to report data on pollutants for publication in a German as well as to a European pollutant release and transfer register (PRTR). The legal commentary is mainly addressed at authorities and operators to facilitate the application of the rules without in-depth knowledge on their legal background.

In their policy paper "International Trade Policy in the Context of Climate Change Imperatives" for the Committee on International Trade, Christiane Gerstetter, Michael Mehling and Tanja Srebotnjak examine the relationship between trade and climate change as well as the potential of trade and trade policies to contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation.

<p>&#13; The One Planet Economy Network held its Workshop on Scenarios and Policy Analysis in Brussels (Belgium) on 8 and 9 September 2010.  R. Andreas Kraemer moderated the workshop, which was part of the One Planet Economy Network: European Union (OPEN:EU) joint research project sponsored by the European Commission, DG Research, as part of the 7th Framework Programme for Research.</p>&#13;

The Yearbook Ecology 2010 has been published at the beginning of September 2009. Ecologic Institute is one of the institutes supporting the yearbook and contributed three chapters on ecological transformation, water and oil to this year's edition.

<p>Why has Germany become a world leader in developing and installing renewable energy, while the United States was a laggard until recently? For the past few years, Christoph Stefes of the University of Colorado Denver and Ecologic Institute Berlin as well as Frank Laird of the University of Denver have conducted research to answer this question. They have recently presented the results of this research, which received generous funding from the National Science Foundation, at an event of Ecologic Institute Washington, DC.</p><p>

Dr. Camilla Bausch and Benjamin Görlach of the Ecologic Institute and Dr. Susanne Dröge of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs hosted the 16th Climate Talk at the end of August 2010. The evening’s theme was: US climate policy after a hot summer - from "Yes we can" to"Sorry – we tried"?

<p> The Slovenian Government&#39;s annual Bled Strategic Forum promotes high-level dialogue among leaders on key issues facing Europe and the 21st Century world, allowing Europe to better use its strategic space and leverage, and builds political commitment to these strategies. At the 2010 forum, R. Andreas Kraemer of Ecologic Institute provided input and moderated the panel on &quot;The Water Challenge&quot; focusing on threats to and from the water environment, human security, cooperation, and the avoidance of international conflict.</p>
