An intact, near-natural landscape water balance is of particular importance for nature, climate and resource conservation as well as for adapting to climate change. However, the water balance is currently heavily influenced by anthropogenic factors.

The conference "The future task of a near-natural landscape water balance" addresses aspects of restoring a near-natural landscape water balance and offers opportunities to exchange views on nature conservation objectives and implementation deficits as well as possible research questions and application projects. Starting from the status quo, this will take place against the background of current framework conditions, future climatic changes and possible synergies between nature conservation and other fields of action.

The conference is aimed at stakeholders from water management, agriculture and forestry, nature conservation, climate protection and adaptation, research and renaturalisation practice, landscape planning, spatial planning, water and floodplain ecology, among others.
