The EFFACE project, which is coordinated by the Ecologic Institute, will hold a conference on "Smart Enforcement: How to Target Environmental Law Enforcement Efforts in Times of Crisis" on 3 November 2014 in Brussels.

The half day event will include two sessions:

  • The Theoretical and Empirical Case for Smart Enforcement
  • How to Make Enforcement against Environmental Crime Smarter – Practical Perspectives

Speakers at the conference will include European Union officials, senior university researchers and legal experts in the field of environmental crime.  Christop Stefes, Senior Fellow at the Ecologic Institute and scientific coordinator of EFFACE, will moderate one of the Panel sessions.

The conference is organised by the Institute for Environmental Security in co-operation with Ecologic Institute and the Flemish High Enforcement Council for the Environment
