Supporting the Climate Sustainability Working Group under the German G20 Presidency

Project
Duration
-

The Ecologic Institute supports the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) in their preparations for the newly established G20 Climate Sustainability Working Group.

In December 2016, Germany took over the presidency of the G20. Among the declared priorities of its presidency, Germany highlighted the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement and the 2030 Agenda. For this purpose, it established a new Climate Sustainability Working Group (CSWG) that cooperates closely with the existing Energy Sustainability Working Group. The CSWG focusses on the implementation of the Paris Agreement at national level. It will also consider issues of innovation, investment, infrastructure as well as the impacts on competetiveness, growth and social cohesion.

The Ecologic Institute supports the BMUB providing briefings on topics arising under the CSWG, analysing positions of G20 members, and accompanying the meetings of the CSWG.
