Re-using goods and products offers numerous economic, ecological and social potentials. An exciting case example for the reuse of building components and furnishings was presented on 15 July 2021 at the online expert dialogue "Re-use of building components and furnishings in the construction project of the church community of Staaken".

The aim of the online event was to exchange experiences on challenges (e.g. pollutant content in existing materials) and possibilities for re-use. The focus was on the concrete application example of the church community of Staaken, which is to be incorporated into further activities for deconstruction measures in Berlin and beyond in the future.

In addition to input from various experts in the field of re-use of building components, used building components and furnishings from the Staaken parish, which will be auctioned off for re-use, were presented at the event. A highlight was the improvisation theatre "anundpfirsich" from Zurich, which provided an artistic background to the topic and discussion of the webinar.

The online dialogue was organized as part of the Berlin Re-Use Initiative. Presentations of the event will be available on the Senate website in due course.
