Climate scenarios say that emission reductions are the backbone of climate action, but CO₂ removal (CDR) also plays an important role. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change calls CDR "unavoidable". The EU climate law determines that CDR will become a central part of EU climate action: from 2050 onwards, the EU should remove more greenhouse gases than it emits.

This is a great challenge. But are Member States ready for it?

This webinar presented and discussed a report by Ecologic Institute on national frameworks for CDR. The report assessed the CDR policy frameworks of all 27 Member States and made recommendations on how to improve them.
