Fabian Haase works as a Research Assistant at Ecologic Institute, where he supports the Coastal and Marine Team. His research focuses on the German North Sea and Baltic Sea, as well as on the role of ecosystems in promoting climate resilience. He is fluent in German and English.
At Ecologic Institute, Fabian Haase contributes to the project "The German North Sea and Baltic Sea Over 100 Years Ago", which examines the historical species composition in the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and aims to provide an overview of these ecosystems before intensive human use. He is also involved in the "Tropical Adapt" project, which supports the promotion of ecosystem-based adaptation measures in tropical and subtropical regions.
Fabian Haase is studying Economics at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. During his studies, he developed an interest in emissions trading, environmental taxation, and payments for ecosystem services, as well as the integration of ecological principles into economic decision-making.
