The third TropicalAdapt workshop, dedicated to scaling up ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), will take place virtually. Bringing together experts from policy, science, and practice, the workshop will explore how EbA can move beyond local pilot initiatives towards broader, sustained impact in sub- and tropical coastal regions.

While EbA has demonstrated its effectiveness in many local contexts, scaling these approaches remains a key challenge. This workshop places particular emphasis on three critical dimensions:

  • Scaling Up Coastal EbA: Pathways, Dimensions and Barriers
  • Scaling Up through National Adaptation Plans (NAPs)
  • Financing Coastal EbA at Scale: Funders’ Perspectives

Together, these elements are essential to transition from isolated successes to systemic, large-scale implementation.

Workshop series

This workshop is the third and final in a series of three consecutive events on coastal ecosystem-based adaptation. The first workshop focused on stocktake and financing aspects of EbA (materials available online). The second workshop was dedicated to community engagement and strengthening partnerships for coastal EbA (materials available online).

Further information about the workshop will be available soon.

The third and final workshop focuses on how to scale up ecosystem-based adaptation by strengthening community engagement, mobilizing sustainable finance, and improving coordination across governance levels in sub- and tropical coastal regions.
