Sandra Cavalieri is an Associate of Ecologic Institute. She focuses on convening stakeholder dialogues to develop policy recommendations for Arctic environmental management. Sandra Cavalieri is also an Advisor to the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants hosted by the UN Environment Programme. Sandra Cavalieri is a native English speaker and has working knowledge of German.

While working as a Senior Fellow at the Ecologic Institute from 2006 to 2012, she coordinated the institute's activities in the field of Arctic issues and the Transatlantic Program. She led the project Transforming Economies through Community (I-CITE) and contributed to the project Regional Adaptation Strategies for the German Baltic Sea Coast (RADOST) and the European Arctic Information Centre initiative. Furthermore, she worked on the projects Cooperation across the Atlantic for marine governance integration (CALAMAR), EU Arctic Footprint and Policy Assessment, and Transatlantic Policy Options for Supporting Adaptations in the Marine Arctic (Arctic TRANSFORM).

Prior to joining Ecologic Institute, Sandra Cavalieri worked at The Nature Conservancy (TNC) where she collaborated with state agencies (North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) and North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation) as well as federal agencies (US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA)) to secure public funding for biodiversity and landscape conservation.

Sandra Cavalieri holds Master's degrees in both Public Administration and Natural Resources Policy from North Carolina State University, as well as a Bachelor in Religion and Environmental Science from Barnard College, Columbia University. As a student, she worked as a research assistant for Dr. Cynthia Rosenzweig, a Senior Research Scientist at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies.
