International Networking Workshop on Urban Nature

Project
Duration
-

On behalf of the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN), Ecologic Institute supported the conceptual development and organisation of the European Networking Workshop on Urban Nature, held in Bonn on 5–6 May 2026. The workshop aimed to bring together key actors from across Europe to exchange experiences on promoting urban biodiversity and implementing the EU Nature Restoration Regulation.

Expert Dialogue and Practice-Oriented Exchange

The workshop convened representatives from public authorities, cities, academia, EU institutions, and relevant networks. Discussions focused on the implementation of Article 8 of the Nature Restoration Regulation (NRR), particularly with regard to planning, governance, financing, monitoring, and capacity building related to urban nature. Case studies from various European countries enabled participants to compare approaches and challenges at national, regional, and municipal levels.

Support for Workshop Design and Moderation

Ecologic Institute provided both technical and organisational support for the event and was responsible for moderating the workshop. Interactive working formats facilitated direct exchange among participants and strengthened networking between European actors working on urban nature.
