On 2 July 2025, Fenja Kroos, Researcher at Ecologic Institute, contributed as a speaker to the European Youth Conference “European Green Roundtable” in Berlin. The event was organised as part of the “Response-Ability: Responsive Youth for Climate Action (RYCA)” project, co-funded by the European Union, and brought together young participants, experts, and policy practitioners from across Europe to exchange perspectives on climate action and environmental policy.
The roundtable aimed to create an open dialogue between youth and experts on how collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and countries can contribute to effective climate solutions. Participants from several European countries engaged in interactive discussions, group work, and exchanges on environmental challenges ranging from waste management and land use to environmental communication and policy making.
Fenja Kroos delivered a keynote presentation on the EU Nature Restoration Regulation, providing insights into the development of European environmental policy and discussing its relevance for current climate and biodiversity challenges. Her contribution highlighted the importance of translating policy frameworks into practical implementation and engaging younger generations in shaping environmental governance and policy.
The conference was moderated by Margaux Richet. Through collaborative sessions and dialogue with experts, the European Green Roundtable provided a platform for young participants to share their perspectives and develop ideas for future climate action at the European level.
